Celebrating My Girls: Senior Sunday
Celebrating My Girls: Senior Sunday
Today, I am celebrating a very special Senior Sunday for our beautiful granddaughter—a milestone filled with pride, memories, excitement, and a few happy tears.
Watching her reach this season of life reminds me how quickly the years pass. It feels like yesterday she was little, full of questions, laughter, and big dreams. Now she is stepping toward graduation and all the possibilities waiting beyond high school. I could not be more proud of the young woman she has become—smart, strong, and uniquely herself.
But this celebration is extra meaningful for our family because we are also honoring her mom, my daughter.
When our daughter was a senior, life moved quickly and this kind of celebration was not part of the moment the way it is today. We may not have had a Senior Sunday post, the photos, or the public pause to reflect on everything she has accomplished. But she deserved every bit of recognition then, just as she does now.
So today, we celebrate both generations.
There is something powerful about seeing a daughter and granddaughter side by side: one beginning her next journey and one who has already traveled so far, grown through so much, and helped guide the way for my granddaughter.
To our granddaughter: may you always remember where you came from, trust the gifts God placed in you, and walk boldly toward the future.
To my daughter: even if I did not pause long enough to say it when you were a senior, I say it now—I am very proud of you.
First Senior Sunday !
